Project Data:

Bluff stabilization as sculpted soil nail walls between 32nd Ave and 36th Ave and a section of bluff at the end of 41st Ave, including two replacement and one new beach access stairways and beach riprap and rubble removal along the beach.  (Blufftop Parkway project to follow after completion of walls.)

Rip Rap & Rubble Removal, new Stairway #1 at 32nd Ave, about 85% of bluff walls complete from 32nd to 36th Aves and temporary stairs installed at The Hook.

LIVE OAK RESOURCE CENTER PROJECT

 

This new facility is being built as a model project for the co-location of compatible non-profit human services organizations in a County-owned building. This will provide these non-profits with a stable base upon which to build their operations; delivering service directly to the local community. The tenant agencies will be the Live Oak Family Resource Center (part of Community Bridges) and the headquarters of the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County.

1740 17th Avenue, just north of Capitola Road, across from Ferrell's Donuts.

Project Data:


This is a new 7,400 square foot two-story light frame building on a 3/4 acre site.  Green building features include a goal of 20% recycled material, 45% locally produced material, solar electricity generation, low VOC emission materials, shared parking and community facilities, efficient insulation, lighting, and heating systems; and openable windows, completely eliminating the need for air conditioning.

Rough grading and compaction, foundations, steel frames, first floor hot water heating, the concrete slab, rough framing, electrical, and plumbing.

SOQUEL AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Soquel Avenue (between Soquel Dr. and 17th Ave.), Live Oak

Project Description:

 

Roadway and roadside improvements include a second westbound travel lane between Highway 1 on/off ramps and 17th Avenue and sidewalks, bike lanes, curbs, gutters and drainage improvements along the south side of Soquel Avenue.  The project also includes new street trees and landscaping for this “gateway” to Live Oak.
